Golden hour is the first and last hour of sunlight, when shadows are long and colours glow. It is also when most places are at their calmest.

Check sunset times the night before, scout a spot by day, and arrive twenty minutes early. Face the light for silhouettes; turn around for warm, glowing portraits.

Then put the camera down for the last five minutes. Some sunsets are for remembering, not posting.
